Ms. Hynson has been active in Milwaukee as pianist, accompanist, composer, soprano soloist, church musician, and voice teacher since 1981. She has performed with the Bel Canto Chorus since 1989 as assistant conductor, accompanist, and soprano section leader.
As a concert pianist, she has performed Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue on tour in Spain with the American Festival Orchestra. In October 2008, she was the premiere pianist for Bel Canto’s performance of Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle. In November 2008, Ms. Hynson performed Bloch’s Concerto Grosso No. 1 for string orchestra and piano with the Homestead Chamber Orchestra. She was the guest pianist with the Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra in January 2009 for the Fauré Ballade, and performed Piazollo’s Maria de Buenos Aires with them in November 2011.
Committed to supporting developing artists, Ms. Hynson has been the staff accompanist for the Homestead High School choral program since 2001, and regularly accompanies a large number of instrumentalists and singers there and elsewhere.
In addition to her multi-faceted performing abilities, Ms. Hynson is a successful composer/arranger. Over four thousand Wisconsin students attended performances of her two original musical theater compositions, Not Me, A.D., focusing on drug and alcohol prevention, and It’s Cool To Be Nice, dealing with middle-school social issues. In addition, Ms. Hynson has published numerous choral arrangements through Hal Leonard Publishers, Shawnee Press, and Lorenz Publishing Company.
Ms. Hynson and her husband Richard Hynson share the Minister of Music position at the Mequon United Methodist Church. She also teaches voice in her studio in Thiensville, WI.
